2M Group

The 2M Group of Companies was founded in 2004 with a long-term objective to grow an international chemicals distribution portfolio based on excellent companies with strong brands. 2M Group of Companies includes a portfolio of branded companies of chemical distribution and related chemical services of samples management, storage and blending.

Project Context

2M approached 9FT seeking expertise in ERP and change management for their extensive Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation affecting over 500 users globally. Previous business-wide system implementations had highlighted gaps in change management, leading to low adoption rates and inconsistent processes and resistance to change. This prompted 2M to prioritise equipping leaders and managers across Europe with skills to navigate and advocate change effectively; aiming for a unified approach and improved employee experience across the organisation.

Project Delivery

9FT’s role was to design and implement a tailored training program for key managers and leaders across 2M’s, emphasising change management centred on an ERP implementation. The program, conducted across five countries and in multiple languages, aimed to enhance 2M’s change management capabilities, equipping leaders to effectively advocate for and navigate through organisational change. Key objectives included bolstering foundational understanding of change management across the organisation, fostering confidence in managing resistance to change, and ensuring robust stakeholder support throughout the change process. Moreover, the initiative aimed to establish a network of over 100 change advocates within 2M, individuals adept at assessing project sentiment and facilitating smoother transitions. Continuous collaboration between 9FT and 2M throughout the project ensured alignment with organisational goals and effective deployment of essential change management tools and concepts.

Project Outcomes

The training initiative engaged 110 leaders, achieving a 70% survey participation rate with an average course rating of 9.5/10. Participants’ understanding of change management improved significantly from 3.4 to 4.7 out of 5. Confidence in change management skills also saw substantial gains across fundamental areas, stakeholder management, and day-to-day change practices. Feedback highlighted the program’s positive impact, showcasing enhanced leadership capabilities and organisational readiness for future initiatives.
